I was born and raised in Chicago, IL. I have always known medicine was my calling, for as long as I can remember I wanted to become a physician. I am a first-generation college graduate and despite many challenges, I am glad I have been blessed to accomplish my goals.

While in college, I participated in a Summer Medical Education Program. This opened my eyes to biopsychosocial issues patients experience, the existence of health disparities, and the need for closing the disparities gap in our healthcare system.

During my medical journey, I have had the opportunity to work with underserved and vulnerable patient populations. This is an area in medicine I most enjoy. An additional passion of mine is women’s health and obstetrics. I completed a Maternal Child Health fellowship which helped me to better manage high-risk pregnancies and neonates. It also allowed me to practice operative obstetrics for urban underserved pregnant women.

I have always enjoyed teaching students and residents. But it was during fellowship training this was solidified. This helped to lay the foundation for my future career as an attending. It is a joy to work with residents—to teach, and to learn. My path in medicine and life experiences have prepared me for this exciting opportunity at GRMC. I am looking forward to working with the GRMC family, and I am excited about the great things in store for us!
