Foothills Family Medicine is our outpatient clinical practice, and our primary teaching hospital is Gadsden Regional Medical Center, a major regional hospital with complete inpatient and outpatient care. We have an active family medicine inpatient service to which we admit patients from our clinic and the emergency room. This service is run by GRMC Family Medicine residents under the supervision of our faculty physicians. Care includes all ages and the full spectrum of Family Medicine, from infants to teenagers to adults to geriatric patients. We also provide medical consultations for other hospital services. Residents also rotate through other areas of the hospital during their training, such as the Emergency Room, ORs, ICU, Labor & Delivery, and newborn nursery.
Our Family Medicine clinic provides high quality, excellent care. All of our faculty and residents are in their continuity clinics on a regular basis and care for a variety of patients. The patient-payor mix encompasses private insurance, self-pay, Medicaid, and Medicare patients. Our clinic is fully staffed with outstanding personnel, including lab technicians, medical assistants, and administrative support. Besides laboratory capabilities, we provide point-of-care ultrasound, women’s healthcare, and bedside procedures for our patients.
